Extensive remodelling and enlargement of a Victorian terrace in South London to create an inviting home full of light and warmth
The project entailed a single storey rear extension, L-shaped dormer loft extension and whole house refurbishment.
We worked closely with our client to deliver this bespoke home with carefully crafted solid oak joinery. Shou Sugi Ban charred larch cladding was chosen for its inherent longevity and protective qualities as well as its characterful aesthetic.
Birch plywood interiors and vibrant colours juxtapose to create a palette with a nod to modernism, filling the interior spaces with warmth and tactility.
Natural light within the home has been maximised with the enlargement of existing windows to the rear. A feature oriel window framed in solid oak forms a reading nook with direct views over the back garden.
Downstairs, a side infill extension enlarges the existing kitchen to create a generous family friendly kitchen diner.
The project is due for completion in the first quarter of 2020.
